The boats

Only ten Pronavia 38s were ever built. We have two of them.

Bongani and Seawolf have spent their life on the water together — built in Sweden, raced around the UK and Mediterranean, and now based in Valletta, Malta. With the comfort of a cruiser and the performance of a racer, they are boats that work as hard as you want them to.

Between them they carry a prestigious history of offshore racing, including multiple entries in the Rolex Middle Sea Race. This year, for the first time in years, they race each other again.

They are well maintained, fully commercially licenced, and built for people who take their sailing seriously. But they’re also boats with character and a warmth that’s hard to find in a fleet of identical charter vessels.

When sailing on Seawolf and Bongani, you really are taking a step up in sailing experience. Charter yachts are great for steady holidays, but this pair of yachts have a different lineage. The wind to speed ratio, the less obvious alterations you can make with the sails, the fact there's somewhere you can still get a good night's sleep, as opposed to a pure race yacht trying to hunker between the sails. I've sailed on both boats, had a great time and learnt a lot.
